Mr. Whitelaw Reid to Sir Edward Grey.--(Communicated June 20.)
THE American Ambassador presents his compliments to Sir Edward Grey, His Majesty's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and begs herewith to confirm his oral statement of yesterday evening, that Messrs. J. S. Morgan and Co. represent the American group of bankers proposing to take part in the present Chinese railway loans under the rights acquired in the joint concession to Great Britain and the United States.
The Ambassador has conveyed to them an intimation of Sir Edward's wish that they might get into immediate communication with the other groups.
